Oh yeah. Hey, when did he have to whatever the fuck is it? I mean, I know you don't give a fuck you make another money, but you don't give anything.
SPEAKER_03It wasn't May. It wasn't May, right? May? Yeah. April. April, April.
unknownFuck.
SPEAKER_03That's the end of an era, bro. Yeah. That's an end of an era.
SPEAKER_04My bad, my bad, my bad. And he's like, I'm doing fuck. I'm gonna get fucked up. Why are we in culture talking about club seven? Fuck. Anyway. No, I'm gonna go. So and I wanted to get them involved. I don't, you know, we had we had culture.
SPEAKER_03We had culture, but culture, yeah. Yeah. Um have you been in there since they remodeled? I'm just asking. Yes, I've been in there. I've been in, it's it's still the same. Still the same. Still the same.
SPEAKER_04Because I seen the commercial forward, I'm like, no, what the whack? What the fuck is this? Vibes? All right, vibes? Then I seen I'm like, it's seven.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they haven't really chased the inside. But it's a different owner, completely different owner. Ah, okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04My man, no dispensing owner, I guess. Clubs out. Anyhow. Anyhow. Hey yo, B game, man. Before I do the whole intro and shit and whatnot. So just to let y'all know this episode, like it's been a long time since I did this, and so I decided what better way to do it than to come back and have this man with me. I'm gonna introduce him in a minute. But y'all know who the fuck it is. Appreciate you. Goddamn ruddy. But anyways, fucking gonna chop it up. But uh, and the reason why I called him because he checked it. I I got I got this whole speech planned out and he don't know it, but check it out. So he don't know, he don't know. So we check it. We check it, right? So every now and then, maybe like twice a week, twice a week, every two weeks in a month or whatever, I'll get a phone call from this guy. Cause we friends, you know what I'm saying? We close friends, but we not close friends like well, we close friends, we family. We family. I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I don't know if the fuck out of the moment. Thank you. I just said it was a long time. It's been a long time, yeah. Long time. I'm back, bitch. Anywho, uh, so we cool, but because we live totally so you know, separate lives or whatever, and he be doing his thing, I be doing my thing. We don't, you know, we we see each other in the street. It's hugs and love. You feel me? You know what I'm saying? Anything pop off, I'm bang, bang, bang. You feel me? But we keep in touch every now and then we come in and we had this big long power. We'd be on the phone for like three, four fucking hours.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we do, we do. So pause.
SPEAKER_04Right, right, right, right. So in that conversation, I this so this pod is going to be pretty much similar to the that's this phone call. You know what I'm saying? That's all I want. The phone call that we normally have when he does call, or when I do call, when I reach out, because I think I'm calling him more now that he's calling me. Right, right. He's too famous for me. So anyway, so yeah, don't even do that. He's too famous for me.
SPEAKER_03Don't even do that.
SPEAKER_04But anyway, so yeah, so this part is pretty much that phone call that me and him have. You know what I'm saying? I'm just ruddy, trust me. I'm just ruddy. I had to fly out to go see this man. You feel me? Like I he's famous, bro. When you had to go fly out to go see your man perform, he's famous, bro. You know what I'm saying? When you got to get on a plane and leave from where you're at and go to a whole other place to see your man perform, your man is famous, bro. Appreciate that. All right, so stop with the bullshit. Let me give you your flowers now.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_04Just Rudy. Just Rudy. But anyway, the reason I bring all that up is because it's only a couple of times, and I'm gonna do the intro in a minute, my bad. It's only a couple of times that I've ever seen him mad, and the story that I bring up, we bring up finally, is the sweater on his sh- uh blood on his sweater. And for those who know the story, y'all know where this is going. So for the new people that don't know this story, I'm just gonna give you the highlights of this motherfucker, right? So boom, so check me. Right now, I'm gonna start off by saying this the disclaimer of this whole story. I'm not nowhere near this motherfucker, okay? Right? Still at home. That's where you are. I'm at the crib chilling. I think I was playing Madden or something. I do not know, but it's I'm gonna start back, right? I'm doing my Bruce Wayne, you know what I'm saying? Doing my daytime change thing, and uh, I get a phone call in the middle of the day. Now, I'm not again, I'm not a stranger to Rudy's phone calls. Rudy calls often. We talk for a very long time. Boom. So I see Rudy call, I'm answering that bitch. Appreciate you. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, boom. Rudy calls, I'm in the middle of whatever the fuck I'm doing. Boom, he calls. And and I'm I swear to God, I'm finna get to the bullet points. I'm just starting backwards. Rudy calls, first thing out of his mouth is motherfucker. Where the fuck were you at? Like, I now I have to recollect where I was at. I don't know what time, place, or anything about where the fuck I was at or anything. I don't know where the fuck he's talking about. So I'm like, I didn't do it. You know what I'm saying? Whatever it was, I didn't do it. But he claims that I did it. And what it was was I was not present one night at an area that we went to, clutch, one time for clutch. Long, long time ago. Long time ago. So don't have been there. And I wasn't there, and an altercation happened, and some guys got beat up by some friends of ours. Silverback. And see, and this is the thing, he's yelling at me. My niggas won the fight. He complaining that he was too close to the action. I was too close to the action. He tried to stop the winning. He tried to stop the winning. No, I wasn't trying to stop it. Y'all won too much. Quit it now. What are you trying to do?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was trying to save that motherfucker.
SPEAKER_04You were trying to save somebody's life. Yeah. Rudy, nobody asked you to save nobody's life, bro.
SPEAKER_03If I didn't, that dude would have been it. He would have been dead.
SPEAKER_04I believe you. The way you told that story, and I ain't finna get into the story because everybody knows the story. If you don't know the story, catch another fucking episode, bro. It's a long story and win that book.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but but big shout out to Silverback.
SPEAKER_04For real, one time. You feel me? You feel me? When that boy said, I'm from Brooklyn, bro.
SPEAKER_03That boy said, I'm from Brooklyn, boy.

SPEAKER_04And then J Life Represent. Always for life. G V E, one of the founders. You feel me? You feel me? Uh currently doing a lot of big things, which we'll talk about later on. You feel me? Or plotting on whatever he'll tell me. You feel me? One DJ Rudy, you feel me? Welcome to the thanks for coming through. For real. One time for culture. Shout out to Eddie for letting us use the spot real quick. They back there cooking up his chicken, so we're finna hurry up and get the fuck up out of here. You feel me? I want some of that check out. That shit's smelling good as shit. For real. For real, for real. So, anywho, one of the reasons why I got him here, and I didn't I think I said it off camera. I'm gonna say it on camera any anyway, and not only to him, but to everybody else. Uh, happy Father's Day, my guy.
SPEAKER_03Happy Father's Day to you too, my brother. I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, man, yeah, man. Hey, and all you fathers out there, man. Happy belated Father's Day. Uh shit. How was yours? If you don't mind me asking.
SPEAKER_03Actually, it turned out it turned out pretty good. Between everything you asked for, where did you ask for anything? I ain't asked for nothing because I know I was gonna get shit. Okay. But this year I actually got something. Surprise the shit out of you. Yeah. One time for the wifey. Love you, baby. You got you, got you. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Okay, I'll ready, already, already, already.
SPEAKER_03Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for the runway. Thank you for the red way. Think you for the red wake. God damn. Yeah, but yeah.
SPEAKER_04Good Father's Day.
SPEAKER_03Good Father's Day. Her and my daughter got me something. So I was actually sorry. Actually, pretty happy about it. Shit, shit. First time in what many, many, many years. Many, many years? Many years. Oh, damn.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. That was a big ass surprise. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Surprised the shit out of me.
SPEAKER_04Shit. Like I was saying, man. Happy Father's Day to everybody out there, uh, belated father's day. And shit, I'm I'm this, like I said, I was gonna, you know, just go ahead and put it out there. If you living in Japan in general and you're one of one of the dads like us or whatever, double happy father's day to you. You know what I'm saying? Being here, my nigga. Shit. Because a lot of them out here that's not, you feel me? You know, a lot of wealthins out here, bro. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, one time to you, because you know what I'm saying, you stayed and you just take care of your own, you know.
SPEAKER_04I'm saying I I be trying, bro. It ain't it slowly. It ain't easy. Slow start, bro. It ain't easy, slow start, bro. Slow start, bro. But uh, I ain't the best father. I I I wasn't ideal, but I I'm I'm I came back around.
SPEAKER_03I'm saying we all we all have our you know saying downfalls, but at the same time, as long as you there to take care of your own, that's what it's about.
SPEAKER_04No, dead ass.
SPEAKER_03Dead ass, bro.
SPEAKER_04Deadass. And and and half the battle is is is sticking around. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. Especially out here, because the culture is mad different. And so different, bruh. And it's hard to I don't know, man. It it's it's it's not is it do you do you find it hard to parent? It depends. The culture Well shit, half yours already grown. I say, well, did you? Let me put did on that motherfucker. Yeah, I know you still parent him, but you know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It was it was hard at times because so because, like you said, the culture difference, but at the same time, the language barrier too. Right, you know what I'm saying? That's what the biggest thing I had to fight with, you know what I'm saying? Um at times I had to put a rule in my house like, yo, look, y'all only could talk English so I could understand it. But you know how kids are, right? They don't listen. They went back to Japanese. So I would have to look to my wife and be like, what they said, right? What they say, right? But you know what I'm saying? I I was able to pick up certain things from them and learn a little bit of Japanese. I could speak a little bit, all right, but at the same time, they get into these big conversations with their moms, and I'm still trying to, you know what I'm saying, trying to decipher it. But when it comes down to it, it's hard, but at the same time, as a dad, as a parent.
SPEAKER_04My bad. I don't mean to say that. I'm sorry, my bad, my bad, my bad.
SPEAKER_03Bring up my little closer go ahead. But as a as a uh a dad and a father, right, you will find ways to parent that kid. Right.
unknownYeah, yeah, yeah. Nah, no shit.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? That and that's one of the things that I had to learn and fight through in order to make sure that my kids are good. You know what I'm saying? My main thing is the way I look at it, everything is that I want to make sure that my kids are good. You know what I'm saying? I grew up without a father. My father was in Jamaica, my mom was in the States, you know what I'm saying? I didn't get to meet my pops until I was like 12. You know what I'm saying? So it was like I didn't want to have that for my kids. Right. You know what I'm saying? So for me, I was like, nah, if I have ever had kids, I'm gonna make sure I'm there for them. If answer buts, mames about.
SPEAKER_04That's the big reason why a lot of us as I ain't gonna say just black men, but I'm talking about American men, period. Like stay over here and you know what I'm saying, and go through the go through the motion versus bringing her back to the states or whatever, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Well, I could say for for me personally, right? One of the things for me was being able to raise my kids in a safe environment. You know what I'm saying? Where my kids don't want, I don't have to worry about my kids, you know what I'm saying, getting snatched up or getting shot and anything like that. That was the biggest thing for me. You know what I'm saying? Over here, the kids are you already know kids, kids be walking out on the street like damn near eight, nine o'clock at night.
SPEAKER_04You know what I'm saying? Yeah, we're talking about little kids. Little kids. Yeah, we're not talking about teenagers. We're talking about fucking kids be out the door, you feel me?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04Go ahead, my bad.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, you're good, you're good. And that was my main thing was to make sure that my kids grew up in an environment where the this this Japanese culture is more dedicated towards kids and making sure kids are good.
SPEAKER_04They they are about the future. That ass.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's the first thing. The second thing is being around my kids, you know what I'm saying? I did not want my kids to be like, where's my daddy at? Or who's my daddy? True. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04No, that ass. That's what I'm saying. That's that and because I said that to say, because I think that's one like one of the big reasons why I stayed out here. You know what I'm saying? Because I didn't want to be not present, right? Or in the case, because like I said, I was a work in progress, not I wanted to be available, right? You know what I'm saying? Right. I wanted to be available. So in the case of, you know, uh, in the case of of kids outside of my house, I'm here. Right. You know what I'm saying? Right. I'm here. I'm right. Right. So I ain't nothing but a phone call away, a drive away, a hop, skip, and a jump away. Instead of being a plane ride away. Instead of being a plane ride away. You feel me? Right. I'm right here. I'm I can I can put my hands on whoever put their hands on you, goddamn. Right, right. I'm gonna get them too. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And number two, the the number one thing is which I discovered later on, which I did not know was a thing, but I'm glad that I discovered it. It's it it plays a big role in like school. Yes. Activities, like them dealing with, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Yes. I let me ask you this. Your kids growing up over here, did they go to all Japanese school or did they go to like did they ever run into any encounter where they were like getting bullied by uh completely Japanese school?
SPEAKER_04My my daughter.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I don't want to get into it because I like to fucking destroy that goddamn uh fucking uh center that she was going to, you know, little after school center or whatever. Whatever, you know. I'm at work, can't get them right in. Right. They they ain't old enough to get in the house, they gotta stay here till somebody comes get them. Right. That's where they're at, you know. Right. I'm only like maybe 30 minutes out, so they're they're not even there that long. That's where they would be at. And then incident happened. Like I said, I went fucking.
SPEAKER_03How did you how did you deal with that?
SPEAKER_04I dealt with it wrong. I ain't gonna hold you. I dealt with it. I I'm not even finna get into the details. That's how wrong. I only think I know, only thing I know for a fact is I dealt with it wrong. Okay, I dealt with it wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, bro. That's that's one of my I ain't gonna hold you. That's one of the lowest moments in my life. One of them. And if I had to put a bunch of low moments up, that's one of the greatest hits, my nigga. Wow. You know what I'm saying? Okay, as a parent. Like I learned a lot as a parent. I changed a lot after that. After that, okay. Fuck you. That was a definite moment in your life. I changed a lot as a parent after that. I changed a lot. That that that that that ate me up inside. You know what I'm saying? That ate me up inside because you know what I'm saying? I'm not sure. I don't know, for me, that fucked me up, bro. That changed, but it changed me as a parent, bro, because I'm a school. I fucked that up, bro. I fucked that up. I fucked that up. And I am I'm not ashamed to admit it. You feel me? Right, right, right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_03I fucked that up. That's one of the things that's a good thing. Uh, you being as a parent and as a man, being able to own up to what you did, yeah, you know what I'm saying, and know what you did kind of you know how to change it going forward in the future. Because I know you got more than one kid, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, and that helped you as a parent to change how you deal with the rest of the situation later on down the life.
SPEAKER_04It it changed how I it it it it like I say, it changed my direction as a parent like drastically, bro. Like I it like night and day. Drastically, wow, you feel me? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it it I I wanted, I wanted, I but nah, that that's yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what? I mean, not to cut you off, but um I had a different experience with that. Um what we had first thing first, let me let me let me explain you explain to you my family dynamics. Okay. All right, all right. First thing first, right? I don't have no pure Japanese in my family at all. Okay. At all. Okay. Meaning that her sister, her oldest sister got married to a Mexican.
SPEAKER_00Okay, right.
SPEAKER_03Her next sister got married to a black guy.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03Right? Her brother got married to a half white, half Okinawan chick. God damn.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03And then I got married to her. Right. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Y'all don't even that y'all family the reason why they protested right now. You see what they're doing to us? They invading us. They just taking over my whole family. Y'all took over there, took over my whole family, bro.
SPEAKER_03Right. Her kids, I mean her um, her mom's um grandkids, it's all mixed. You know what I'm saying? Which is actually cool because when my daughter was going to school, she was going to Hawasay, right? But her cousins was there. So it was like a whole gang of half kids that was going to the school. That had to be great. I bet that had to be great. Man, they was the most popular kids in the school. You know what I'm saying? So they didn't have to deal with that. I mean, to a degree they dealt with that dynamic, but the way they think and the way they are, they was like, whatever. You're stupid. Right. And this kept it moving, especially my daughter.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? She she's different. She's different. The way she moves, the way she acts, she is, I could say she gets a lot of her pride from me. You know what I'm saying? Because I'm a prideful dude. You know what I'm saying? As to what I do and what I love to do. Okay. And that's the same way she is. You know what I'm saying? So anybody that talked to her and call her any type of name, she's like, whatever, you stupid. Right. And just kept moving.
SPEAKER_04She seemed like it. She looked like it. I ain't never really, I've never really spoken to her as an adult or whatever, but she seemed like she got her head on her shoulder. You feel me? She seemed like she she knows what the fuck she wants. And she knows what the fuck. You feel me? She she seemed like she knows what it is, bro. You you you y'all did a good job, man. I appreciate that, fam. I appreciate that. I ain't finna talk about your son on camera, bro, because I've already shamed you enough, bro. I've not already shamed you enough. I moving on, goddamn shit. Here, one more thing, man. So me and you got share something in common. Now, I I must admit, uh, their mom does most of the work as far as basketball is concerned, only you know, on the Japanese side or whatever, you feel me? But me and you share something in common, and and I try to get there when I can. You know, my schedule, I explained to you outside, it's mad hectic on the weekend, on, off, on, off, whatever, whatever. So they be playing a lot of games, right? This, that, whatever, whatever. Right. So, but what's that environment like for you, like out in town, basketball-wise? Like when you walk in and people see you and da-da-da-da, or or whatever. I I don't know, man. Like, what's your experience having a kid that hoop out here?
SPEAKER_03Nah, I got two of them that hoops. You know what I'm saying? My second one and my youngest one hoop.
SPEAKER_04That's right, that's right.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? So um right now I'm dealing with my youngest who is 14. And I mean, I try to go to the all the games that he has. Um walking in the place, it's just like a regular parent just walking in, you know what I'm saying? Everybody know him, like, okay.
SPEAKER_04I don't mean to cut you off. Do your kids know that you're fucking DJ Rudy or fucking child life?
SPEAKER_03Bruh. They know that. They know this. Um, let me tell you this quick story, all right. So just to let y'all know, my daughter's 25. And my second son, and he is 22. So I'm an old ass nigga. You said that I did. Go ahead, man. I know that. But you was thinking that. You was thinking that. I gotta think it. I know it, nigga. Go ahead, man. Nah, um, my daughter, she's a model up in Tokyo. You know what I'm saying? Um, she does a lot of stuff up there with different brands and stuff. Shout out to Shouton Man.
SPEAKER_04Hey, she's a big deal. Y'all need to go find her. She's a big deal. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03I'm just I'm saying Maya Asia. She's on Instagram. Yeah. Check her out, man. She's a big deal.
SPEAKER_00Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03So um, I was DJing at Blue Cafe. My daughter and my son came down here because my son also lives in Tokyo. And he played ball for Huckwood College. So he's a big time bull up there. They both came down at the same time. And I was DJing at Blue Cafe. Right. They came in the blue cafe now, bro. That was packed. Okay. And they was like, that's your daddy? I was like, yeah. So I'm DJing, got everybody dancing and stuff. My son was talking to some chick over in the blue cafe. And he goes, Yeah, that's my dad. Oh, wow. Really? Yeah. Really? Because the girl was like, yo, the music is really good in here. And the son's like, yeah, that's my dad.
SPEAKER_04Oh, shit, he pulled that line?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah, indeed. Bruh. I had that proud dad. You know what I'm saying? Because first thing first, my daughter's been out to the club where I've been DJing. You know what I'm saying? And she's she's okay. She probably ain't paying you nobody. She pay OJ action for daddy is money to go buy drinks. Right. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Let me hold something.
SPEAKER_03But at the same time, just having them in there. Come on out, isn't it? Yes. Let's go ahead and go ahead and house.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, can't do nothing about it. Go ahead. Okay. But um, when they was in the club and I had them dancing, and they was in there with their friends and had all their friends dancing, I felt really good because they was like, Daddy, your music is so good. Yes. I would think that's a weird feeling, bro. Bro, when my wife told me, she was like, you know what, you're gonna be in the club and they're gonna be dancing, you're gonna have your kids come in the club while you're in the club. Right. I felt when she first told me that, I was like, oh. That would freak me the fuck out. But now it was like I enjoyed them in the club because they could see what their dad actually does. Right. And what he presents to the people. Right. You know what I'm saying? So this is why my ass was gone all them nights.
SPEAKER_04That's why I was gone that Saturday and that Friday. Remember that, remember that when you was remember that when you were full? This is why, baby. That's wow. Yeah, yo, that's wow. Yeah. Okay, I appreciate you sharing that with me, bro. Yeah, I never I never thought about that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04No, then ask. I never thought about them being in the club and you and you're actually spinning, and and and that the feeling that you feel would be proud. I would be I would be freaking out. Nah, cause one thing I've won wrong move, bro, and all whatever dad points I had are gone out the window. You feel me? Like, oh shit, the fuck. Oh, goddamn, dad points.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04I I wanna, you know what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03See, what I've learned, and this is what my my dad, after I turned 18, right? You know what I'm saying? This is after I met him and stuff, right? He told me, he was like, once you turn 18, you're a man. I can't tell you what to do. Only thing I could do is advise you of what you need to do. You know what I'm saying? And I kind of take that that stance with my kids. It's like, look, once you turn 18, I'm not a parent anymore to you. I'm a guardian, well, I'm a I'm a guidance counselor, basically. You know what I'm saying? To guide you to where you need to go.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? So I can't I can tell you what's wrong and what's right, right? But it's up to you to make that decision because you're a grown-ass person. Yeah, our job's never done, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, our job's never done. It's never done, but at the same time, you can't force, you can't lead the horse to the water and make him drink it. Nah, you're right.
SPEAKER_04You're right.
SPEAKER_03You're right. So that's the stance that I wind up taking with them. It's like, okay.
SPEAKER_04I don't think I want to be that that that type dad neither. Like, do this. You know, flow how it flow. You feel me? So I yeah. I, you know, I feel you, bro. You uh you kind of gave me an insight into you that and I think a lot of people is gonna enjoy hearing that shit, bro. Cause I again, if, if, if, because that position is, I don't know how rare that is. Shit, I'm pretty sure it's not that rare. Dads that's DJs that have their kids come to that, I'm pretty sure it's not rare. I've never heard one speak, so you're the one. You're the one. Shit. So anywho, but nah, man, that that's a good chat, bro, on that whole thing.
SPEAKER_03Uh fuck. I mean, not to cut you off. Not to cut you off, but I mean, your duder is doing dude, she's doing big things. Both of them in it, bro.
SPEAKER_04Both of them in it. I'm proud, bro. I'm talking big, big, big, you know what I'm saying? Right, right. Right. You feel me? I'm talking big, like they, they both have the potential to do something outstanding. Right. You know what I'm saying? And the only thing I can tell them, only thing I can tell them is because at first, you know, to get them hyped up, let them know I am interested. You know, I'm talking big shit. Cause I'm excited. NBA, bro. NBA, we're going. But as the years went on and stuff like that, and I became a a more well-rounded dad about it. You feel me? I had to go through my ups and downs about it. Uh, it's more now the lesson, the the thing I want them to get out of, I want them to know is basketball can take them anywhere they want to go. Exactly. Exactly. And that's all I want. Basketball, yes. I'm talking about they're they're very nice in the manner of basketball. You know what I'm saying? They're gonna do something with that. You know what I'm saying? So that's all I want is for them to let basketball take them somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Can I tell you something? And you know, me being a little bit older than you, you know what I'm saying? The way I look at it and the way I got my kids are, do what you love to do and make money at what you love to do. I told them that too.
SPEAKER_04I told them that too.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? I told him that too.
SPEAKER_04You're gonna get you're gonna get a fucking big pile of money for playing a fucking game.
SPEAKER_03Right. You know what I'm saying? But the thing is too, and I understand where you're coming from because I've been there. I've I've I've been there because my son, he's got a full scholarship to play basketball in both high school and college.
SPEAKER_00Right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what I'm saying? And what I was trying to, what I try to relate to him is that this is not the only thing that you could do. Right, right, right, right, right. There's other avenues that you can do. You know what I'm saying? But at the same time, if you love this, work your asshole for it. For it, yeah. Okay. I was like, take me as an example, is that I love to DJ. And I've been doing it for years, you know what I'm saying? And I make money out of what I love to do.
SPEAKER_04You you're basically saying the same thing. I've been, I, I, I say to them, especially like doing this what we're doing right now, because right as they started getting hot, is right around the time I started doing this. Oh wow. And so I'm like, I'm gonna keep working on this if y'all keep working on y'all can't. Right. You know what I'm saying? Right. And it so far it has worked. You know what I'm saying? So far it's worked. I gotta, I gotta, my daughter was, my daughter was was nominated out of her school. Oh wow. First time ever in her school for any player, male or female, to be nominated for an all-star. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You feel me? And you know, that right there was like, all right, bet. So now we know for now we know for sure, for sure this is it. Like, I ain't saying this is it, like this is where we're going, but she can. Right. There's this is an avenue. Right. You know what I'm saying? That she can take. And she can take it as far as she wants to go, or like you said, take it to where she wants to go. Right. You know what I mean? So it I it is is at this point, it's all on her. We will just give her the tools that she needs to get there. And continue to give her the tools. That's it. That's all we're gonna do. Give her the tools. Whatever tool we can give her, whatever workout, whatever drill, whatever sneakers, whatever, you know what I'm saying? Right, whatever, whatever rap, whatever goddamn surgery, massage, whatever the fuck, you know what I'm saying? Whatever she needs, we're going to pour into her and both of them. And you know what I'm saying? And that's all we can do. Right. And and and and love on her to death and let her know we're proud of her. We're proud of both of them. You know what I'm saying? Right. We're proud of both of them. You know what I mean? No matter what, no matter fucking what, we're here, even if you become a fucking bum in the future. Still here. One more question on this subject, and then we're gonna switch this up, and we're gonna get the fuck up out of here. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, only 30 minutes, yeah. It ain't been that long.
SPEAKER_04Dude, it's only for like 15 minutes. It's like fucking talking on the phone, bro. Same p game, man. Same episode. One more question. One more question in this in the same vein. And uh shout out to all the motherfucking basketball parents out here too in Japan. Yeah, I'm saying uh word. Yeah, all the basketball, all the basketball parents out here. If you're a basketball parent, big up to you. You feel me? Uh stay on your journey, man. Your kid might be the one, might be might be the next Ruby entrepreneur. You feel me? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Don't don't sleep with Oakinao got some some bullish. It's some dogs out here I've seen.
SPEAKER_04But from what I've heard, mainland carrying them, though.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Maryland carries, though. And then the thing is, too, with my son, he went to Beto junior high school, right? And he was he was like an all-star player out of there. Right. And then he got recruited to go to mainland to play for Nobioca. And it's a big difference in the way I the way they play the games down here versus the way they play up there.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03The game is a lot quicker, a lot faster. Them cats move bruh. You know what I'm saying? And at the same time, the thing is being in Mainland versus being in Okinawa, you get more looks in mainland.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you get more looks. Yeah. You get more looks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Get more looks.
SPEAKER_00You get way more looks over there. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I but like I said, man, and and I say it all the time, if you're nice, they will come find you. Oh yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00They will come find you.
SPEAKER_04You feel me? Like I said, shout out to all the basketball parents out there. You feel me? Anyway, uh, one more thing before we leave this subject. Like I said, we're gonna go to the next subject. That saying, uh, people say to their kids, when you get old enough, you gotta get the fuck up out of here. Were you one of the parents?
SPEAKER_03I I'm not gonna say that I was one of those parents. Right.
SPEAKER_04Um was cool that they, you know what I'm saying? If let's say they didn't know where they were going, because both of y'all, both of yours know look like they knew exactly what the fuck they were gonna do. They they knew what I'm saying. But when they was younger, they knew exactly what they wanted to do. So they just they just needed to just maneuver to get to where they were going. So at some point, so you knew at some point they were getting the fuck up out of here. Right, right.
SPEAKER_03Like my daughter, she came to me directly and she was like, Daddy, I can't stay in Okinawa. This is right after she graduated high school. So she's about 19, 20. About 19, yeah. And she's like, Dad, I can't stay in Okinawa. I was like, what you mean you can't stay? She's like, There's no good modeling jobs down here for me to get. Right. So I need to leave. I say, so where do you want to go? She said, I'm Tokyo. All right. When you want to. She was like, I want to leave in a couple of months. Ah, go. Oh shit. Ambitious. You know what I mean? And she got the new. I can't stop her. I can't stop her. You know what I'm saying? You can't stop her. Hell yeah. I was like, yo, okay. How much I need to pay for this, how much I need me to pay for that to get you on your feet. Right. You know what I'm saying? And she was gone. By 20 years old, she was gone. My son, doing us in college now, he was out of our house by the time he was, what, 14, 15? He went to high school in mainland. Right. You know what I'm saying? And my youngest, who is 14 now, um Is he going that same path? He's thinking about it. You know what I'm saying? He's on he's on the fence right now if he wants to stay here or if he wants to go to mainland. But at the same time, he's looking at his brother, and he's like, he kind of want to go in the same pass of path as his brother. Right. You know what I mean? So I don't know. It's up to him right now, right? But I'm pretty sure he's probably gonna go to mainland.
SPEAKER_04So it's safe to say that you didn't say that because you just totally jumped over the fucking subject. I said you were what I'm assuming you weren't one of those niggas. No, I wasn't I I don't think I'm gonna be one of those niggas. Yeah, I wasn't that because you kick them out, then what? Now they out in the street like like bums. And you know what? I don't think it's that bad if they stay to the crib a little bit longer. Yeah, yeah, it's not that bad.
SPEAKER_03Shit, when we was younger, shit.
SPEAKER_04Well yeah, my childhood went a little different. Anyway, my childhood was a little different.
SPEAKER_0318 years old, I was gone, so I made my decision early.
SPEAKER_04It was like I I was gone, I ain't gonna say I was gone early, but I I did a lot of things early. So I I don't want that, I want my kids to have a full childhood, and that's why I'm here doing this shit. You feel me? I'm gonna have a full I want them to have a full fucking childhood, man. Be kids for as long as you can be kids, children, be children for as long as you can be children. For real. Because being an adult fucking sucks, bro. Hey, you get to go out, have fun, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but you gotta pay for all that shit later on. You feel me? So, yeah. And then you turn around and be all fucked up like me and shit. Anyway, yo, so like I said, man, one of these DJs that's out here, you know what I'm saying? He is one of them ones, you understand me. And with that being said, I have a question for you because you, as you know, I've been laying low. What outside look like? I mean, I see culture popping. Culture popping. I see culture popping. I see culture popping. I know Blue Cafe still got it.
SPEAKER_03Blue Cafe still got it. Yeah, uh Barrio still got it.
SPEAKER_04Barrio still got it, yeah. Shout out to Barrios, I know they still got it. Shout out to Blue Cafe, I know they still got it.
SPEAKER_03Um, what you call it? Barry's still got it. Barry's is still nice? Barry's still nice. What's going on?
SPEAKER_04Is American village ain't for fucking Americans, bro? I thought y'all was gonna say some wild shit, bro. American berry, American village ain't for Americans no more, bro. It's out of there. It's it's mostly for the Chinese people, right? It's out of there, bro. But Barry's it's nice to see Barry's. Yeah, what's that other one? Uh AMF. Is that shit? Is that shit? I haven't really heard too much about it.
SPEAKER_03I haven't heard too much about AMF, but uh cabanas. Yes, cabanas.
SPEAKER_04Shout out to them, man. I've been seeing them low-key. One time for Tony P. You feel me? Tony, all y'all boys over here, you understand, man?
SPEAKER_03Shout out to whole G VE group. They running everything pretty much because we got people over here at culture. We have people over at um burial, blue cafe, cabanas.
SPEAKER_04I know you the nigga the ass, man. Stop plugging your shit. Let me plug it for you, goddamn god. One time to DVE, you feel me? Shout out to D V E. I'm fucking with you. No, you're the dude to ask, you know what I'm saying? So that's why I want to know what's nice out here. You know what, man? Like uh cabanas, I'm threatening to go over there. It's more close to the crib, you feel me? Right, right, right, right. I I can shoot over there real quick. And and the last time I last couple times I went over there. I think one time I went over there was like, all right, but the last couple times I went over, that shit was like nice, nice. You understand me? Yeah, so it's my type, it's my type of vibe in there too, man. And bartender is yikes.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, and then we got the um okay Oscars coming up.
SPEAKER_04I know I'm supposed to be fucking one of the hosts, and I'm supposed to be anyway. I don't never hit me back. He just shot me the death. He's gonna hit you back. You gonna hit me back? He's gonna hit you back. All right, what you what you think about that? No, no, it's something different.
SPEAKER_03We need something different.
SPEAKER_04So curious to see how that goes.
SPEAKER_03Me too, but uh curious to see how that goes. It's different, it's different. The thing is with that, is that when you think about it, we're it's gonna be at the Hilton. Seriously, I did not read that fly thoroughly, bro. Yes, it's gonna be at the Hilton. You're gonna have valet parking, uh-huh. You know what I'm saying? You're gonna have food, uh-huh, drinks, all of that. It's gonna be over there, man. Really? Yes, oh, yes, I'm not to scarf one time. Yeah, one time for DJ Scarf. Y'all, you you tell like you getting it together. 8.5 of a belly five of a blue.
SPEAKER_04Hey yo, that that shit look like it's gonna be 8.5 of belly, bro.
SPEAKER_03If where you Hilton, it's gonna be after Hilton, bro. It's very few times that I say this, bro.
SPEAKER_04That'll be impressive.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes, gotta be impressive. Yes, an award show. Yes, that'll be impressive. But think about it, though, bro. If we pull that off, that'll be impressive, bro. Think about it, bro. Yeah, there has not been any type of thing like that down here where we could give back to the community saying that, hey, yo, we want to present you with an award for what you've done out here for the community.
SPEAKER_04Okay, all right, now that you put it like that. Because you talk about the community. The community is the people, bro. Right, you know what I'm saying? No, I'm I'm bullshitting. I understand you're talking about it's it's it's not so all these promoters and and and club owners and bartenders and people that make your nightlife experience great deserve to have to get their flowers. Right. I feel you. Right. You know what I'm saying? Right. Because and and and and and and and I'm with you, you know what I'm saying? Once upon a time, once upon a time, I was one of them. So I know they deserve their flowers, they make the the system around. So for him to organize this to honor them will be even if you get nominated. Right. You feel me? It's fucking outstanding. So I think it's great.
SPEAKER_03Right, it's worth it. You know what I'm saying? It's something different, and this is the first year. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? So this is gonna try, we're gonna try to make sure this happened every year. Okay. You know what I'm saying? You say we are you a part of it? I'm a part of it. Well, you're a DJ, of course. Yeah, I'm a DJ. Are you gonna present? I don't know yet. I don't know.

I'm saying it's because I've been seeing it. It's right here. Culture. Yeah, it's right here it's been looking pretty good. Oh, yeah. It's been looking pretty good over here.
